4 Things Every Parent Should Know
When Choosing a Dance Studio
If most dance studios seem to have qualified friendly teachers, who are experienced teaching children and a big show at the end of the year, aren’t they all pretty much the same? Does it really matter which place you decide to enroll? Yes. There are 4 main things that can make a huge difference in the quality of instruction your child receives and the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of being involved with a dance program.
1. How far do you have to travel?
Traveling into Tracy can be time consuming and inconvenient. Now there is no need to travel, we have brought high quality dances classes to you. You can still bring your children to dance classes and stay in the community you love.
2. What is the size of the class?
If the dance class has fewer students in it each child will receive more personalized attention, learn more and have more fun. With younger students it is easier for a teacher to maintain control over the class and make sure each student understands the concepts and instructions. A smaller class size also allows our teachers to ensure that students are not developing bad habits or improper technique.
Our studio limits all of our classes 7 and older to a maximum of 10 students per class. Our classes for dancers 2-6 years old the maximum class size is 6-8.
3. Are the classes age appropriate?
Some studios use music and choreography that is not appropriate for young children. And many times these young dancers are put in costumes that show too much skin.
We pride ourselves on only using music and choreography that is positive and always age appropriate and we dress our dancers in costumes that are modest. Our teachers have strict instruction that all recital costumes can not have a bare midriff.
4. Can I get immediate costumer service?
Many dance studios don’t have office staff or even websites that you can get information from. You can reach our office staff via phone Monday - Friday from 2:30-6:30 and our website is always available for you to get current school information. Newsletters are sent out monthly and given to parents; we also send out many emails (sometimes weekly) reminding everyone of studio events.
